Here are the steps to quickly transfer you domain from Godaddy to another registrar:
1. Unlock your domain with GoDaddy:
- Login to your Godaddy Account.
- Next to Domains click on Launch

- Select the domain to unlock and click Locking

- Deselect Lock Domain to have the domain unlocked, click OK

2. Obtain EPP code from GoDaddy:
- Login to your Godaddy Account
- Next to Domains click on Launch
- Click on the domain you need the EPP code for

- Click Send By Email in the Authorization Code field

- Click OK
3. You also need to disable privacy protection service for the domain ( if it’s enabled).
- Go to the DomainsByProxy.com and login to your account (the login details are not the same as for your GoDaddy account. Look for the email sent by support@domainsbyproxy.com for the login details)
- Select a check box next to the domain name you need to disable privacy protection for.
- Click Cancel Selected, OR click on the cancellation icon next to the domain name
- Click OK to confirm.
Once the domain name is unlocked and you have your EPP code you can start transferring you domain.
4. Accept the transfers at GoDaddy.
Once the administrative contact approves the transfer request and it is initiated at the registry level you can accept the transfers on the GoDaddy’s side: hover over Domains -> Domain Management -> hover over Domains in the Domain Manager menu -> click “Pending Transfers” and accept the transfers from there.
This guide shows that you are not tied down to a specific domain registrar and that you can move to another if you feel the need. Hope this helps you guys in transferring your domains to your preferred registrar.
