Well I really enjoy watching movies and I quite often watch them from my laptop. The standard Windows media player often freezes up when I watch certain movies and for me personally it is quite buggy. Thus I looked for an improved media player and that it is how I stumbled upon VideoLan (VLC ) Media player.

VLC is a free open-source video player that has the capabilities to play pretty much any video and audio file. It also works on all computer platforms , i.e. Windows , Mac , Linux etc. This media player has pretty much become my standard media player on my PC , from playing DVD’s to other downloaded movies and Audio cd’s.

VLC is pretty easy to install and use and I hardly ever find files that VLC cannot handle. Due to its functionality and capabilities and in specific the fact that VLC is really quick when opening up and loading media files I will probably not be searching for another media player any time soon.
